Tbirds on TV

just watched the opening scene from a pilot on NBC for a show called "Miss Match" - she comes in driving a sky blue 03, top down and changes clothes while waiting at a light. drives off and parks, gets out. Definitely gotta go and see if there are more scenes.

You must be watching TV at the PC too. Nice to see the car get such good coverage on a show that has gotten good reviews, at least locally. In the review of the show in the Baltimore Sun, the writer makes reference to the car as one that her father gave her, and "it cost more the the homes of many of the folks who will be watching the show". I don't know about the hpousing market where the rest of you TBN folks live, but neighborhoods that have $40K homes around here are usually boarded up awaiting demolition for a Walmart or Rite Aid.

I hope we see a lot of Alicia in her Bird.

he!he! - maybe 20 to 30 years ago on the housing. The show ended with a couple of scenes with her 'bird. One with the porthole top on and in "her driveway" and the next with her driving off in it, top off again. of course - no blank tape to record it all on.

We just watched the show also. I know what my favorite show is for the season.
The scene at the stop light got Craig's attention. Good that we have a pause-able dish so I could see the whole show! Nice to see so many shots of the 'bird, but Craig wondered who was helping her put the hardtop on, then take it off....

I just wonder if it gets to park in a garage at night? The driveway where it was shown parked in with the hardtop on didn't appear to have a garage at the other end, just a fence and trash cans.

Miss Match/Discount Tire/2 in 12 hours

I must have missed the opening scene of Miss Match. The clock on my VCR is a little bit off, so it may have cut off the beginning of the show.

I first noticed Alicia's bird in the driveway, but it looked like that driveway was her next door neighbor's driveway as there was a hedge to get to her house and the driveway appeared to have an walkway to the neighbor's house. Maybe they will show different angles in the future. My husband thought that part was a TV blooper. .

Saw her driving it at the end, though, so I knew it was hers. (Unless her neighbor has one too!)

Then this morning there was a Discount Tire commercial with a Red Bird in it. I'm not sure if they are just local or if you would have seen that ad nationally or not.

I also wondered as to who helped her put the hard top on---Since I have the white top, I wish the top had been white. I hope that this show will help Thunderbird sales. Also as to putting the hard top on and off---I assume that the TV crew had put the top on and off a lot of times for the different shots (In the back of my mind, I was wondering how many scratches they were putting into the paint).

Watching the DIY all day Scrapbooking Marathon....Jerry (walking by---you can bet he wasn't watching that stuff!) saw an ad for a Food Network or some sort of "fine living" show.....had a desert sky blue in it. I was taping the marathon, so I'll rewind , watch it and post the show.

Detroit area ad for discount tires features Karen Newman local singer driviing a red 2002 Thundrebird. The car gets lots of play time. I noticed that the safety belt stickers on the sunvisors have been removed or blacked out!

The History Channel last night (September 28) on Shifting Gears episode #2 had about 2-3 minutes of a top down red Thunderbird. They show the host driving a red 2002 but give the engine stats for a 2003. The theme was the trend to retro cars and they touched on all of them but the Bird was by far the most prominent and the only one the host drove.

Did anyone happen to tape the History Channel Show, Shifting Gears, last night? Usually at the end there is a phone number and show # that can be used to purchase a copy. It would be nice for TBN members to be able to access this if they missed it. I think this is a new show, so the episode won't be repeated for a while. Unless, of course, whoever taped it is willing to make copies for TBN members.....
