  • Tbirds on TV

Be on the lookout for the new "Sirius" sattelite radio ad. It features two quick shots of a blue t-bird. It's kind of a neat dream sequence - A guy out cruising in his dream car (T-bird) then once the ad finished you find him at a drive up window in a mini-van! A real neat ad idea!!!

It was running on Comedy Central last night - so be on the lookout!

I have a little bit of trivia for ya'll. I just got through watching Pal Joey on AMC. Who knows what color the 57' Thunderbird is that was used in the movie? You might need to know this in case Joel has planned one of his trivia contests for Destin.n:

Cool, I haven't seen the ad yet, I put Sirius satellite radio in a month ago. Maybe that was my blue t-bird.

            5bird7;

You are right. The Bird is red in the TV commercial. But not in the movie.

              Pal Joey

              Thunderbubba,

Being the consummate Sinatra fan, and quite a devotee of Pal Joey, I can tell you for sure that the T-bird in that movie was yellow!

                Pal Joey T-Bird color

Paula you are correct. It is a Inca Gold with
Inca porthole hardtop. The owner is in Scottsdale and worked for Columbia studios
when the movie was made. He purchased the
car new. I frame up restored the car for him in
1998. It still is here for service periodically.
The owner is about 75 or in that area. The car
is a full power with automatic and a very nicely
kept specimen of an early bird.

                  That beautiful Pal Joey car

Wow -- thank you, Ronbon. What an interesting post! You must have had a blast restoring that car. I would give anything to own an old T-Bird, especially one that beautiful, so the next time you see the gentleman, could you ask him to please give me the car when he tires of it? :)

Janet and Natalie were watching TV last night. Thunderbirds sigthed on Miss America program. Don't know if they were commercials or if the contestants were sitting in Thunderbirds. Too bad if the girls were...the Thunderbird would win!!

Just spotted a red bird in a new Radio Shack commercial with Ving Rhames and Vanessa Williams. She is backing the car up and all you can see is the steering wheel (red accent), dash gauges and the drivers headrest. No mistaking the car though.

Has anyone spotted Meguiar's commercial on speed TV? A guy waxing a black 2002 with a red '57 in the background. BTW Meguiars is my product(s) of choice on my red bird.

Speaking of Trivia, on an old post from t-birdfanclub:
Member Joe Patrissi posts this puzzler:

"I am writing again this time with an interesting puzzle! Recently Ford sent my 3rd gift for buying the new classic Thunderbird. In the book Ford makes a statement that there are at least 12 logos (Thunderbird Wings) on the car!

I can only count 11, and remember I don't have the special Marcus one with the wings on the portholes. The count is as follows: Front hood 1

                            Truck deck 1

                            Chrome wheels 4

                            Back of seats 2

                            Back area of seats 1

                            Steering wheel 1

                            Front windshield 1

                            Total 11

I have looked in the truck, (on the spare tire), on the soft top and hard glass, under the hood, and even in the glove compartment. Still no 12th logo!!!! Perhaps you can help?"

Can you find the missing logo??
