Looks like the editors have no taste and no class. If someone has a cat, I can recommend this magazine as a suitable liner for the litter box.

talk about getting on the bandwagon to dis a car. yellow journalism seems to be a favorite pastime when it comes to getting people to read their articles. Pick on a car with a good following that really sold better than most of it's competition - and was designed to end from the beginning plus we're happy that it uses parts from another car - it means ours will last longer. and it wasn't Motor trend that wrote the article but Car & Driver

I drive a car that turns many heads still and we have new members that looked forward to buying one used - and love it. We get thumbs up just driving it down a country road. Can't go wrong with those reviews and they're the ones I pay attention to.

and this is the stat that gets me -
Only 19,085 Thunderbirds were sold during the 2002 model year and sales dwindled from there. Mercifully, 2005 was the two-seater’s last year of production.
The 2002 model year went from june 2001 to Nov. 2002 - with 32,000 2002s built and over 24,000 sold from Sept 2001 - to Dec 2002, over 9,000 in sales in 2005 fiscal year, too, not a bad number to go out on for a convertible.

I agree with one comment that was made - that being, it is a heavy overweight car, which is softly sprung. Which brings up my question for saying that - what is the best upgrade in shocks, or otherwise, to improve the handling somewhat, and make the suspension a bit more firm....??

LS sport struts, lol - parts sharing works - but do a search as I think several have changed struts, shocks and more.

What automobile out there, that's meant to appeal to the mainstream public (not just the super-elite) doesn't have parts shared by another vehicle or platform?

The worst items they can complain about are the Springs and Vehicle Weight?

                      Geeeeeeez!

Here's a new collector niche. Who can get the entire set of 10 worst cars of the year? I allready have my 2002 Thunderbird pin. catch me if you can ..

I also had a Mustang II Ghia, which I really thought was a good looking car and my first that used "unleaded' gas. I also have had a 1990 Cadillac Allante, so what do I know?Maybe there is a pattern here?

I disagree with a lot they had to say about the Bird. In my eyes, their comment was foolish and discredited Car and Drive Magazine. I'll never buy that magazine again as well.
