I love it. When I dropped the hood insulation to install it I found out my T-Bird was autographed.

Re: Chrome Hood Scoop Bezel on PCR
Very interesting Dave! Do the autograph dates correspond with your car's manufacture date. I wonder if there is any way to find from Ford the names of actural persons that signed it.
Nice looking hood scoop.

Re: Chrome Hood Scoop Bezel on PCR
Probably not - Ford didn't like us taking pictures in the factory during tours nor could we post them on the net if they were taken, and above all, if any employee was going to be in a scene, photographer had to have their permission to take the photo.Originally posted by BJHEN View PostVery interesting Dave! Re: Chrome Hood Scoop Bezel on PCR
Pretty simple job to swap out the bezel. I was a little aprehensive when I was popping the new one in place though. It took a significant amount of force to push it in. There are gaskets around the clips that have to compress some before it will snap in place.
I learned one lesson. Remove the hood insulation clips from the bottom up. That makes it easier to support the insulation during removal. I did it from the top down and almost had the insulation fold over on me. That would have left a nasty crease and I would have been unhappy with that. Either way you do it, you need to support the insulation until you get the last clip out. I just left the grounding straps attached and laid it down on the engine once I had the clips out.

Re: Chrome Hood Scoop Bezel on PCR
If they did then they are a magician. You MIGHT be able to pry the bezel forward enough to compress the clips and get it out. I wouldn't try it though for fear of damaging the hood or bezel. However, YMMV.Originally posted by Sandman View PostI recall someone saying that they replaced the hood scoop without removing the insulation. Am I correct?

Also, if they used the stick on chrome strip that would of course obviate the need to remove the hood insulation.Last edited by macedon; Feb 19, 2009, 09:56 AM.

Re: Chrome Hood Scoop Bezel on PCR
After searching I finally found it.
Ron
I changed out the hood scoop without removing all the padding on the inside of the hood. use a small flat blade screwdriver covered with duct tape to pry the old scoop off and simply push the new one on until the clips engage. The dealer showed me how to do this and it's quick and works. I have a black 03 and the new hood scoop looks great.
Good Luck,

Karen, Is this the first time you reported it? if not, do you remember when you did? must have been during a bezel change on your pcr? ( I want to find the thread it was reported on.)Originally posted by MObird View PostMy PCR has the autograph, too.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64

Ok, did a little search on the site and found that two others reported their hoods had been signed - another PCR )JAB02LHS and Bar 20 who has a merlot. The merlot owner could read the name on his.
