    Re: Celebrity T-birds

    Dot, Thanks for the answer.
You mean to say that the 55 Hard Top will fit the 57?
A 57 with no porthole it would not be cool with the Porthole Authority. As I recall, the 55s did not have the porthole option.

Our57 originally came with hardtop and a tonneau cover. Eventually original owner bought a softtop for it. When we bought it, the hardtop with it was for a 55 - don't know what happened to the original hardtop but the first owner had had two fender benders with the car.

I believe you are correct. I had a very early '56 and it's top was minus portholes - left over from '55.

I thought "No Port Hole" was an option for 56 and 57.

From what I heard, the port hole came out near the end of 56 and alot that did not have them ended up going back to the dealers and getting them in. So any that was not done is very rare.

Just watched this video and noticed that the yellow Tbird in the row had headlight covers on the top of the headlight that matched the yellow of the car. Any info on that or maybe chrome top headlight covers? I was trying to find but can't locate any.

I said the 55 top came with the car but it did have portholes. the rear hold down handles on the top have to be changed to make it fit the 57. Our 57 had originally come with a non-porthole hardtop when it was new. we don't have a hardtop for it now.

Steve, I noticed that, too. It looks like he removed the standard covers and had them painted.

Could be painted, I thought that paint would just peel from the heat of the light. I done alot of seaching and can't even find another like it. No aftermarket products. It suprises me that they don't make a chrome cover copying the older style with a overhang. I would buy.

Kustomotive made one as shown in the picture above (they're no longer in business)

                  Hotchariots also had a cover:

Powersportcars.com bought out hotchariots designs and used to have them on their website but I looked yesterday and those links/photos are gone. I would suggest contacting powersportcars.com (Phil) and ask if they're still available if you want them.

                    Re: Celebrity T-birds

Powersport California Custom has Shade Visors for the 02-05 Tbirds. They give the car the look of the 55-57 Birds head lights. They say they don't require any bodywork. The book I have shows a Black Retro Bird with them on and it gives the car a differant look. Kind of pricey @ $395.00 plus S&H, and I imagine they would have to be painted too. Leroy

Thanks Dot and Lawrence for the info. Just a bit too rich for my blood though for 395.00 plus. I remember the days you can buy such things from Canadian Tire for under 10 dollars for chrome ones....

Steve, these may or may not work:

Another suggestion would be to contact Gary Kimmell (luvbird) at World Class Wheels (if you've seen his Batmobile). He might be able to custom make them for you.
