Personally I thought you added the needed balance here.

A lot of folks obviously like the idea of this kit ....... but still the kit does come with negatives you must live with along with the new look you are after.

I imagine that removing any of this stuff later could be a real problem. This isn't the sort of change, like new wheels or a radio, that give you the option of storing the original pieces and bolting 'em on later without issue.

It's not hard to imagine that some folks wouldn't think of this until the day comes that they want to take it off.

I WISH DAVID A WOULD SHOW HIS KIT AGAIN, IT WAS EASY TO PUT ON AND EASY TO TAKE OFF AND VERY INEXPENSIVE.

I'm thinking it's time to get the kit for my '05. I had purchased the honey burl shade for the original '03 MagicBird and LOVED what it did for the interior. My '03 was torch red with full black interior. I now have an '05 torch red with the full red interior accents and I believe the honey burl will look just as good. Wood Dash Experts has the kit for $132.60

I like the look but have only seen Pic's. Here is my ? Does it look like an add on kit or does it look like it could have come from Ford that way? I fully agree with the personal taste concept, Some things I used to laugh at and scorn look pretty good today.

...I'm not at all worried about what's gonna happen 'cause I'll never take it off. Why would I ?...The dash looks 10 times better with the wood kit than it does with the stock, bland flat black finish! I bought my T-Bird to enjoy it, "personalize" it and have fun with it and definitely not as an "investment" . If I ever sell the car, even the best price I can hope to get from it, won't turn it into the best "investment'' I'll have made!...but at least, I'll be able to say that I had fun! Also, I don't think the wood dash will really be a determining factor in selling the car or not...

Love the look. You did an excellent job!! I'm thinking of getting it just because of your pictures. I am pretty handy but what is the margin for error in installing.....once stuck is it stuck? If it is slightly misaligned can you remove and restick without breaking? (just curious)

I'd still like to see some more photos of these in basic, all-black interiors...

To make sure you install it right, first do several attempts (without removing the backing paper), to see how it fits because there's no real "margin for error" like you say. After you're confident with the fit, go ahead, remove the backing and gently stick it into place. Don't press it yet!...Check to see if the fit is ok first and if yes, then go ahead and press it permantly...If you screw up, the piece can likely be removed if you didn't "press" it permantly in place. As for re-using it, well I doubt...I remember damaging the top piece of the center stack (with the two vent openings) while installing it and I had to reorder a new piece 'cause it got pretty torn upon removal. ... Other than that, I have nothing but good words for my kit!
                  Hoping this helps!...

                    Re: Wood Trim upgrade

If done right, most buyers would probably think the dash trim was stock.

But, if it's peeling, faded, or slightly askew, that could hurt the resale price.

                        Re: Wood Trim upgrade

I just finished installing mine, which I got from Carid.com for $132.00. I was really nervous at first installing the first few pieces, but once I got the hang of it, it was no problem. Only a couple of pieces were a bit of a problem, which are the ones that have to be installed on curved surfaces, but even those were not too much of a problem. I used the extra glue that it provided for the curved surface ones and the ones around the air vents, since it suggested to do that to really keep them in place.

i know its been awhile since anyone has posted about the dash trim upgrade. i see cargo offers 2 brands ( remin & b & i ) which do you think is the better of the 2. i guess it would be the 3d or molder surface ( remix )? i have a 2002 premier inspiration.
