Re: AVERAGE AGE OF T BIRD OWNERS

I was 62 when I bought mine. Got it for myself as a retirement present 2 years ago. Have owned several muscles cars in the past including a Chevy Corvette and Mopars. Have had convertibles since the first car I bought for my self which was a 1957 Ford yellow and white. Have had fun with all of them but the T-bird is the real true classic.

I was 18 once, bought old crappy cars like Toyota's..Opels...then I grew older but not wiser and bought BMW's, Audi's, Mercs....and then again I got older...until I got 42 and finally bought a Bird
46 now and still cruising and happy

Re: AVERAGE AGE OF T BIRD OWNERS

I retired at 58 and bought a 1970 Corvette Roadster from a guy for $13,000. and played with it for 4 years and sold it for $20,000. Then I started looking for a TBird. At 62 I found the Bird I wanted on Ebay in Lancaster, PA. It was in the showroom of a Mercedes Benz dealer and was an 04 with 7000 miles on it. We drove 1200 miles to Lancaster to look at it and I bought it and drove it home to Indiana. The car has been ours since 07 and now has 16000 miles on it and we love it. Leroy

Re: AVERAGE AGE OF T BIRD OWNERS

in 2006, I retired at age 68, got bored and bought my own company a year later. In need of a company car I decided to choose from three options....
(Secretly I wanted a Caddy XLR but my little company couldn't afford one.)

                      1. Retro model Thunderbird
                      2. Chrysler Crossfire convertible
                      3. Corvette Roadster

I test drove them all and wrote all the pluses and minuses down on paper, assigned a value to each and the T-Bird came up with the most points.

I just turned 71 and still believe I made the correct choice.

Bought my first T-Bird at 64, an 02 with just 200 miles on it. Still having fun and enjoying the ride. Hope to enjoy many more years of good times. Now just turned 67 and still young at heart.
                          Cheers,
                          Jim

03-007's first bird was a 56- black with black & white interior, in 1956 (no we do not still have it :{) Several birds between then and 2002. 2002 was a good year, got Tweetie 1, then added 007 in 2003 Current age. 73 - do the math.

Was 40 when I bought my 02 TR; 42 when I traded it in on my 05 MSB back in March. Hope to get a 56 Peacock Blue before I am 45!

The first Thunderbird I owned is my 2003 Mountain Shadow Grey Thunderbird which I bought new at age 39. Last summer I acquired an 2005 Inca Gold Thunderbird. I'm presently 45.
