Re: Want to Buy 04 PCR - How much to pay?

    Rodger,
There is a nice one at Future Ford in Sacramento. Very clean, looks good, and well cared for, one owner and 20,200 miles. It was inside the show room full of lights, so I can't say the paint did not have flaws. You can find it at Auto trader or Graig's list. There advertised price is $28990. I looked at it 2 weeks ago and in 10 minutes the price went to $24750. No doubt it would go much lower, if I were interested.

I have had mine since 2004, no problems with paint. No problems with car at all. Course it only has 10400 miles on it. It is for sale for $25500, which I think is a very fair price for this nice of a car. KBB does not even try to price them..Mike 404-277-8490

Being a PCR and the low miles are both good selling points. Another good point would be if your car was covered under the Ford ESP warranty that could be tranfered to the new owner. I have it on my 04 and I'm covered with a zero deductable till 08/11. I would list it on Ebay with some good pictures and discription with what number it is, or try Craigslist.com, it's free. Good Luck, Leroy

Re: Want to Buy 04 PCR - How much to pay?

A couple of days ago, there was a PCR listed on Autotraderonline with quite low milage.
I do not recall where it was located, or what the asking price was, but the milage was low enough, that if I had been in the market for one, I would have checked it out.

Click on the 2004 page and scroll down to the Pacific Coast Roadster. If you click onto that you will open the following information page that gives you all the specifics about it. http://www.portholeauthority.com/the...4/spec_ed.html Like all the birds it is just a different version of the same car.

One question I have about the PCR is the pseudo suede seat inserts. I have a friend who has one, only 14k miles, but the seats don't look good, really sort of dirty and worn. I would like to tell him how to clean them up but wonder if anybody has ideas better than interior cleaner from somebody like Griotts Garage.

I have used Capture a dry cleaner, which I got at Home Depot. It worked great, makes the inserts look new.

Nice to read this post and see that PCR's are still wanted, and glad to see I paid a fair price last year from what I read here. I notice a lot of concern about the light interior. I don't think maintaining it is all that difficult. I have had no problems with mine - seats still look new at 40k miles. All you have to do is baby them a little bit and they look great. I've been using the cleaner I received from the dealer when I had it "permaplated." I expect it is nothing more than a very mild soap - just like the info on portholeauthority recommends.
