 Re: SHE HAS ARRIVED!!!!

When I started looking for my Bird in '04 the owner of the company where I worked was selling his '92 SL600 v12 red ragtop for about the same price as a new Bird. I seriously considered it but felt the Bird better fit my personality. Another co-worker bought it and said it was a real money pit, 500/600$ every time it went in for service.Originally posted by FritsB View PostThanks, still a very nice carsigpic

 Re: SHE HAS ARRIVED!!!!

Although to many of us, our Thunderbirds are works of art, most of us also know they are cars meant to be driven. Three years ago I bought "Annie" with almost exactly 10,000 miles on the odometer. That was August of '06, she now has 50,081 and has recently been on a road trip that covered 10,900 miles in 35 days. Driving my Bird is one of the most pleasurable pursuits I have. Going to TBN events is another!

Just kidding . someone bought it new as an investment stored it thinking the value would appreciate faster. When it did not and the economy being thin as it is he decide to cash in his chips.
 Walt
 Welcome aboard!

Congratulations to you, and Joann, on the arrival of your NEW Bird!
Took me a minute to realize it was you who started this thread!

 Re: SHE HAS ARRIVED!!!!

Thank goodness.... another CASHMERE will finally be seen on the highways!!!

I'm getting tired of driving the only one around in South Joisey!!! Besides, on the map Florida is only 10" away from Joisey.

Drive it on dry sunny days... that's when CASHMERES look best. Avoid the cloudy days.... then they look gray and dreary, matching the sky.CVCashmere

 Re: SHE HAS ARRIVED!!!!

And yes... PCR's look even more dreary... almost like someone sucked all the life out of a green car and left it's gray overtones to sag mournfully into the cold, wet pavement.... alone and barren.

I Love to wax poetically; it's putting the wax on the car that's a pain!

But, in reality... not many retro birds look as good in the dreary light as a bright sunny day (the exception being yellow birds)!!!

That should stirr up some flames!

It stays in the garage on cloudy days,
but looks fantastic in a light rain at night!

Ron, did you ever have Sahara sand coming down with rain. Does not make a Black Bird look good. Usually happens after detailing the carOriginally posted by wbgythunderbirds4344 View PostGOOD POINT, BUT BLACK LOOKS GOOD ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. Sometimes Birds travel far... Sometimes Birds travel far...

 Re: SHE HAS ARRIVED!!!!

 Congrats Joann!

Enjoy it! (that's the good news).

Inspect the under-side with a good flashlight (that's the bad news).

Just bought my second retro-T-bird from the Windy City just this past September (1,275 miles when I got her home) and inspected it's under carriage closely, just last night...will start a new thread in that regard.

Perhaps the investor's that kept yours, were more adept about storing for preservation, than mine.

Yours is another gem--you'll surely enjoy.
