In an attempt to get an even more retro look, I'm considering having the lower sections of the bumper covers chromed. Has anyone done this? Does anyone have pictures?

Re: Chromed Bumpers
Not sure what this would look like with the molded bumper that wraps around to the fenders. I can't envision what could be done to make something like this look good. JMO.They are Here. Scotty, beam me up!IT'S 5 O'CLOCK SOMEWHERE

Re: Chromed Bumpers
First, the process of 'plastic chrome" is an all or nothing deal... IE, you can not "chrome" only a part of the piece. Second, the part being "chromed" needs to be more rigid then the material the fascias are made of. However, if anyone can do it then Paul's Chrome can or tell you why not. Having had my COPs covers chromed I can tell you the price would probably be prohibited to do something the size of a bumper. But, give these folks a call and discuss.

Re: Chromed Bumpers
Hello Brian,
I have always thought it would be interesting if the Retro Bird had chromed bumpers. Below is a link to a product that would solve many of the problems listed in the above posts. Bumper skins are not overly expensive.

also do a google search for "spray on chrome"

I think it looks best...as is! Retro is one thing, but those bumpers are out. You can't make this one into a '55 or '57! However, that said, I will keep an open mind. If you get it done, I'd like to see a picture!

You can chrome most any part on your TBird. Contact Paul.

Re: Chromed Bumpers
The way these plastic facias are shaped to the body, I doubt the look would be improved by chroming. If you choose to proceed, please post pics of the finished product... or even better, the entire process.
On a side note, you may want to do something temporary to give you an idea of what the finished process might look like. I found a mirrored Poster Board at Hobby Lobby that could be cut, formed and taped in place to mimic the finished look.
Good luck and keep us informed on the decision. We might be surprised.
