What do I think? I think that I don't like skirts on the retro birds.

But, I am more hung up on not liking the WHITE boot on this BLACK Bird, especially since the car has BLACK tops, even with the WHITE side walls.

Something seems to interfere with the sleek, smooth look of this Black Beauty. IMHO!

I like skirts. I have wanted skirts....But...I have studied the body line around the rear wheel opening and there is no way a skirt can fit flush inside the fender opening and have the surface of the skirt flush with the body of the car like an OEM skirt should be. The tire protrudes beyond the body line at the rear of the fender opening and forces the skirt to sit beyond the surface of the body.Unfortunately every skirt design must be designed like a patch that sits beyond the body. It looks soooo aftermarket. Sorry, that's my opinion and of course that's what I think. It is wise not to ask what others think. If you like it do it. When you ask members of this forum you will not always get the answer you want.

I actually like the look of the skirt you posted.

My only concern would be the knock-offs on your wheels. I've been researching the '63's and one of the reasons that the Roadsters didn't come with skirts was because the knock-offs didn't clear them. Just something to check into.

They are to short, should cover half the tire. Don't know about the wire wheels you have but those skirts won't fit with the Dayton wires.

Susan, the knock-off would not be a problem since the skirts don't come down to the hub, again they are to short.

Any color but black is a toss-up but I do think that the Black Birds are the most "classy". I like them on the black. Here are some old Black Birds to compare.
