The radio/CD player in my Bird has been less than impressive. The radio is full of static for any station past 25 miles, and the CD player eats the CDs. Wednesday night, I put in a CD, but then it would not eject. Normally, I can get it out with some type of slim tool. But not this time. I tried again on Thursday morning, but no luck. I drove the Bird to work. When I went out for the mail, the CD had ejected by itself. Sometimes, when it will not eject, the radio does not work. Not wanting to chance it again.

Re: played the last CD
I liked it better when they put the CD player in the trunk. You can send those out (they are easy to remove) to get repaired for about $200, and you hardly miss them while they are gone.sigpic

Re: played the last CD
My gosh, what next on our Birds? I dumped a tape because I thought it was bad. When the next two wouldnt eject I realized another problem has arrived. I'm thinking why didn't Ford include a knife of sorts with all the other stuff they put in the trunk so we can pry out the tapes that get stuck. I go on line every day to see what the latest breakdown is, and lately, every day its something new. I sold my beautiful 78 T-Bird because I was afraid all the things that are happening to our retros might happen to my 78. None ever did, and the guy who bought it is smilling every time he takes it out and returns home without problems he has to report to a web site.

Re: played the last CD
It's no big deal. Mine lasted 9 years before it quite working, not bad for a 9 year old car. I had it rebuilt for a little over $300. with a one year warranty. People expect these cars to last forever without sticking any money in them. They are Here. Scotty, beam me up!IT'S 5 O'CLOCK SOMEWHEREVisit the TBN Store

Re: played the last CD
Mine sometimes does act up when humidity is high. I guess the CD gets moist and sticky and does not want to come out. Or... car just does not like the kind of music I am playingSometimes Birds travel far...
