Re the front license plate. The last thing you need is a reason to be stopped for something trivial then wind up with a serious offense (perhaps alcohol).
You can mount the plate w/o damaging the front bumper. Others have posted ways. The way I did mine was to purchase the mounting bracket (some $25-$30), then hold it against the bumper like its designed to fit. Note that the bottom of the bracket wraps around the bottom of the bumper. Small holes can be drilled into the bracket and the bottom of the bumper (never to be seen). Fasten with small screws/bolts. Then "wire wraps" (white ones are hardly noticeable) can be used to secure the top of the bracket to the grill. You'll have to drill a couple holes in the bracket for each wirewrap. You may want to slide a piece of thin foam rubber (or slice of innertube) between points where the bracket and the bumper may touch--prevents vibration wear. The license plate is then fastened to the bracket.
Lots cheaper than a ticket and/or the possible ramifications from something more serious--and you're not constantly worried about it.
I'll be working on the front plate when I get home. Only 960 miles to go! I'm heading up hwy 40. What fun! I've been stopped at every pull off with admiring questions and compliments. T-bird ownership is a hoot, huh?
Congrats, Tina! Post pics when you get a chance, and do please come to Thunder @ the White House on the 30th! We'd love to meet you and see your new toy!
