2003 Vin#s and production

My VIN for the 007 is 1FAHP62AX3Y103915. The dealer said it would set to begin production on the car 1/20/03. That is a lot earlier that I expected! Kent, you should have yours by now, just got mine today!

Terry, I am almost happy to wait...never had to wait on the first one and not in any hurry to have the 2 notes,hehe, Mine is a priority one and my dealer told me that the heated seats are standard and the only option he saw was the engine block heater which I did not get. The others were optional standard equipment? Hey Jerry, update me...!But we shall see!

Cindy - -Make sure you get the supplemental running lights. I'm pretty sure if the dealer didn't check that free option, they won't be installed. Just giving you a heads-up. I can't wait to see it.

Thanks David, good to hear from you, yes the running lights are on there, if not may have had to borrow your beer bottles for the grill! Miss you guys A LOT! Just what I need 2 cars I will not drive, my golf cart has more miles and I do not play golf!

I have a question for 5Bird7 and our fellow Nesters who know how Wixom works. If Cindy's 007 has a VIN 1FAHP62AX3Y103915 and is scheduled for production 01/20/03 and my 2003 has a VIN 1FAHP60A33Y103595 and is scheduled for production 12/30/02, does this sound correct? How long are the lines shut down for the holidays? Do our VIN's properly indicate production sequence?

vins do not reflect production sequence but are an estimate. We ended up relying on the "sequence #" - a number you won't be able to access until your car is finished. Check my vin # page on my website http://www.geocities.com/thenewtbird/decoder.html

The sequence # is assigned when the car actually starts down the assembly line. It will appear on one of the white tags marking major components of your car such as trunk, doors, fenders and hood. Most of the sequence #s have been found on the driver's side front fender underneath the hood. It's 4 digits long. All of the white tags on your car will have the full 17 digit VIN #. The VIN is assigned well before the car starts down the line and gets out of sequence because the cars go thru the line in color batches. Other causes may be a lack of certain color parts for a car so those cars will be held til the parts become available.

I'm going to post my VIN on my 2003 and see if I can get some information as to the date built or any other info. VIN is 1FAHP60A23Y105029 (Mtn. Shadow Grey). Should be on the assembly line this week according to my dealer.

Edited: We rejected this car because of the saddle interior. The dealership found a more suitable bird for me and I should have it by Valentine's day.

KarylP: Judging by the other numbers, your dealer was probably right. You should have your car within 2 weeks. Enjoy it, it's the BEST.
