I am in the 8% who said the heck with lifting the roof off, and I just leave it on all year round. If fact, in the 18 months I owed the car, I have never had the hard top off. It seems like there are so many "special issues" with taking that hardtop roof off and on, and who needs that additional headache and the possibility of causing damage to the roof and car. Me, I am leaving the roof on, and going with the classic look.
I agree....
It is like having two cars in one.
I got the hoist a few weeks ago. It is already installed. The hard top is back on the car for the first time in two years. We got in on on the first attempt.
The weather is cold enough and the look is rockin .
There is no doubt now though when the weather warms up that top will be off in a heartbeat.
I always dread putting the top on. The switch for the rear window defroster on the one side always moves and the top leaks air and water (pours in) near the front of the side windows. Can't be on right, it didn't do it when I first got it home and the top was on.

I truly love the beautiful topless look of our two-in-one retro-TBirds, especially with a molded tonneau like that of Jim Heath’s gorgeous ’03 Torch Red (and others’). However, I’ve been there, done that (convertibles), and at this stage of my life, not living in a year-around warm climate, I prefer to be among the minority in this poll.
I bought my car because I simply LOVE the classy, breath-taking, nostalgic look of those PORTHOLES!!! In addition, I have a Black hardtop on my Bronze (which Ford did not allow), so I enjoy owning and exhibiting my rare pride and joy that brings admiring ooohs and aaahs of the unusual color combination (although don’t they all, top on, or off). More significantly, I personally am not willing to part with (even for a few months) the pride of ownership when there is instantaneous recognition of those “portholes” from the Classic Thunderbirds … “Hey, that’s one of those ‘special’ TBirds!!!” WOW, what a rush! Nearly everyone remembers the Baby Birds, and it’s not necessary with the hardtop on to say, “Yes, it’s a Thunderbird.”
So, while I may miss out on cruisin’ free in the wind (without a helmet), my hardtop stays on, year-around. The portholes stay put, and my vote brought the count up to 19 (of 232 votes) or 8.19% in the last category. I excel at being different! heehee

2005 Bronze/Sand/Black ..... My THUNDER on the road!
I wonder what a Bronze top would look like on my Black car? I certainly like the Platinum Silver look on Black!
Like a golden NM, George. I think I suggested that to someone once before ... If I had one, I'd say come on down! But, you know you wouldn't need an excuse to do that anyway.

We put te hard top back on two wks ago and three people ask Nancy at work if she got a new car/
She loves that!
With so many threads on hardtops I did a search and came up with this one. I have to say never received a positive comment or thumbs up with
the top down. With the hardtop on all kinds of questions and thumbs up.
Most common question is what is it and what year is it,think its the port-
holes.
As far as removing and installing the hardtop once I put everything in its
place its a two minute job. I'm seventy-five and my thirty-five year old
buddy no problem we just did it a week ago smooth as silk. As far as trying
to do it with your wife Noooooooooooo It would be like teaching how to
drive.
John got to agree with you. If your spouse or friend is less than 5'1'' like my wife they can't help with the HT. Seems either their arms are not long enough or their upper body strength isn't enough.

I agree Mike, my wife is 5'2" and I bought the lift to make it easy on both of us. Best garage mod I've done
