HARDTOP POLL, DO YOU OWN A HARDTOP?

What a great car our Thunderbirds have turned out to be! Changing the hardtops to a different color and in some cases adding white walls has proven to dress this car up even more, who would have ever thought that we could add so many different colors and modifications to this car and still keep the original retro Thunderbird design in tact.
Don't know if this has been done before, but I am always excited for the members who are able to add a second hardtop to their car. There are also members out there who do not own a hardtop and don't want one either. Lets see how many cars do have one or more hardtops?

Lots of new members here, how many of you own one or more hardtops?

I have a hardtop but havn't put it on in the last year. I know the car takes on a different look with the hardtop, I think I will put it on in the spring for a few weeks just to appreciate the great look of this car with the hardtop on.
My hardtop came with the car. We are lucky to have a car that looks great with top on or top off.

It also drives and behaves different with the top on Jim. Mine is on five months per year, from November till March because of the weather conditions in Holland. But I always look as much forward taking it off as putting it on.
In fact I have put it on last weekend. I see people stare at the car now even moren as when it is off.

Mine's been on the bird twice in the 3 years I've owned it ...once coming home from the dealer, and then again a week later, just long enough to snap a few photos. The Atlanta winters are moderate enough to allow frequent "ragtop days" even in the middle of January & February. I love being able to drop the top at the push of a button on those warm, winter days...

I also do five months a year: June-September & January. Summer cuz it's too bloomin' hot, and January cuz it's too bloomin' cold.

I own a torch red '02 that came with a red hardtop. I remember well how the early two seaters had white soft tops and sometimes white hardtops, I set out to find one. Now I confuse my neighbors by using the black soft top in the spring and summer and alternating the hard tops in the late fall and winter. The red hard top goes on this saturday.

I love confusing people, I have actually had them ask me how many different Thunderbirds I own. I just smile and leave them wondering.

I have two tops...a blue one and a white one. I like both but the only problem is that they take a lot of space in my basement during summertime. I'm contemplating the idea of selling the blue one...

We have two as well. The car came with the blue and we added the white. I think we actually prefer the white. The blue one has not been on in two years. I think it is time to put it on just to make 'em think I got another car.

I finally got the hardtop hoist installed so it shouldn't be a big deal now to change them.

Ours goes on in October and comes off 1st week in May. When we put it on it is like a new car and the same when we take it off.

I bought my LadyBird in April of 2002, brought the car home and immediately removed the hardtop. The hardtop was never put on again until my 4th year of ownership. It was pretty exciting to put it back on, it was like a having a brand new car again and reminded me of the day I first saw the car in the dealership and knew I would not be leaving without it. 40,000 on this car and I am stilling loving it!
I do love the idea of a white top and whitewalls on my car, and maybe someday will purchase both, but right I am very happy owning just the one Thunder Blue top. The hardtop now goes on every November and comes off again in March.

Ok who are these people with four or more tops:, I would love to own more than one but money does not grow on trees at least not here. What colors go well with the Merlot TBird, I thought about black???

I would put white on a merlot, but then you need to add whitewalls too. Pretty sharp!

Try to find a Cashmere top for your Merlot. In fact, If you can find a Cashmere interior to go with it, I think that would look awesome.

I rarely used the blue top that came with my car until last spring when I installed a hoist. Now that I can take it on and off with ease by myself I use the hard top a lot more. I just bought a Cashmere top that I will pick up this weekend. I feel like I am going to have a new car all over again.
