Mike, I checked Brooklin's website and they have not done a 54 or a 56 merc yet. so - which do you really want? a 54 or a 56?

If I could I'd pick a '56 over the '54. The '54 sunliner was very nice, but the'56 Montclair was really very very nice and was considered "The" Top of Mercury's line.

I found that black '03 with white top for $15.00 at:
http://www.danscraftsandthings.com/ - They have it as model #212267, and it is a Revell like the one yesterday which is a Revell model #85-1924. The Revell site has it as discontinued.
They also have three, (Red, Silver, Acqa Blue), model power cars with 2 piece box and stand for $5.00.

I just went to that link and see that they list the model # as
RMX851924 I've sent an email asking but suspect it has the coral tbird on the box.

Not bad for the Model Power cars. Model Power even lists them for $4.98 on their website.

Now, I just enterer the number you gave, RMZ851924 and the same car came up. BTW, 85 1924 is the actual Revell number, so maybe RMX is Revell model expired, since I was told they do not make that model anymore

I still have the price tag on the outside of the model box. The price sticker has the following information : RMX 851924 97537540 K3 $12.29. I just don't remember what store I bought it at, but I had it for a few years.

Bryan, does your box have graphics with the black model with the silver top? that's the question we're after now. Would you post a picture of your box, please?

Thanks, George. I figured it probably was since the graphic that was on those 2 sites didn't show the model with the box - but you never know.

AMT had done a model of the 56 a few years ago that had 2 different box graphics for the same model # kit.

When I bought this one, I assumed it was the new '03 version of "Wheels of Fire", similar to the one produced for '02.

Hi there,

Please excuse me while I interupt the thread for a few moments. I just wanted to say that I am now the proud owner of my first model car since I was 9 years old when I had a huge collection of Hot Wheels cars.

A big thank you to Dave in Florida who sent me a 1:87 scale all black retro bird. It really is teeny weeny but so cute and it is just like a miniature version of our car. I can never see myself as an avid collector, (although I am up to 13 guitars now), but I might just limit myself to black retro birds.

Anyone know how many variations on the all black theme are available?
