being able to raise/lower with the hand winch while the other hand is free to guide is what appealed to me. The winch is mounted on the bar and travels with the roof. The others with the electric winch don't have the same precise control as this one. IMHO. And the price was right...

This is identical to the hoist that Chromer sold me. Just opened the box. Best $50 I've spent recently. Bob Stotts' system uses the same bar I believe.
A $89 electric is on Ebay if you are looking for one. Amazing as the price goes up as you put Mercedes in the description.

Bill, be careful on the back twin straps, looks like they hook onto top on a painted surface, between the weather seal & top. Might chip paint.

Can not find the picture but I think Bob's longer back strap goes under the back window and hooks actually into the bar. He also has 2 more straps with loops at the end that he hooks onto the two rear pins. Very sturdy and vey balanced.Originally posted by wcoates View Posthoist.png
