Picture is a side by side of a Non-Borla and a Borla exhaust tip extension underneath the car. One thing I noticed is that the exhaust tip sits lower underneath the car. With this you run the chance of scrapping the bottom of it if you go up/down steep hills. Unfortunately for me my driveway goes downhill and I am constantly scratching the tip bottom. Just ordered my Borlas from Summit Racing. I should have them by Wednesday. Can’t wait to install them. Have been wanting to do this since 2006 when I got the car. I need to buy two more jack stands and then it’s under the car I will goooo.
i also have the K&N CAI aluminum not plastic that I installed in 2006. Looks great and added about 15 ponies. The Borlas should add 15 or 20 more....giddy up.

I bought my Borla about a year ago. At 69 I jacked up the rear of the car crawled undered and within about 2 hours I had the easy install completed. And I now really know why others, and now I, love the great sound of a Borla Exhaust System.

I found an inquiry on another Facebook forum as to fits of the Borla exhaust system. From experience here is it not True that the system fit is the same for all 03 through 05 cars. Was there any issue with heat shields?

As I understand it, 02 was a different system. 03-05 were all the same. I do love the sound of my Borla system. Coupled with the K&N intake it adds a great boost in power.

Installed the Borla and K&N filter at the same time years ago. Loved the sound of the Borla but did not like the noise from the K&N so recently removed it and reinstalled the stock air filter. I like the overall sound much better now in my ‘05 Tbird. I kept the stock mufflers just in case needed. My wife prefers the quiet sound of the stock muffler but it is my car. Well, actually since she totaled her brand new Tesla S she has taken over my Tbird but the Borla is staying, she’ll just have to get used to it.

I had Borlas on my first Tbird, an '05 EB and my wife didn't like them either. I left the stock mufflers on my TR '04. She's happier and "Happy wife, Happy Life."

I agree with you on the K&N after hearing it at an event. Just different strokes for different folks.
