    • Saw a trailer for the movie The Big Bounce. A Thunderbird blue appeared very briefly. Looks like kind of a dumb movie, though.

      • Anyone catch the FOX cartoon "King of the Hill" last night? The art dealer was driving a red 02-04 Thunderbird. They had at least 3 shots with it in them. Once showing the interior which was full red accent including the top of the steering wheel. One time they showed a top frontal view of the car with the top off. Another time the shot was from the left rear angle with the red porthole top on the car.

It was represented quite well in the drawings and there was no mistaking that it was a T-bird.

Dave, I saw a Jack in the Box commercial tonight - it's advertising a contest with drink cups with pull tabs. The red t-bird is on the cup. We'll be searching for a Jack-in the Box around here now. I don't know what show George was watching to catch that commercial.

          • JIB commercial has played here a time or two on reg'lar TV. We have 3 JIB's in town - my new FAVORITE restaurant! Of different categories of prizes, Jack's Rides includes winner's choice of: 2-year lease of Ford Thunderbird or a ride in Jack's private jet or 2 motorsickles. LARGE window poster shows side view of Jack sitting in a top-down red '03 Deluxe. I'd like to get one of the posters when the contest is over 02/23/04, for sure! Rules say you need to order a medium or large combo meal, but the pull-off stickers are on the drink cups, so you could probably get just the drink. I mean, NO - YOU CAN ONLY GET ONE WHEN YOU ORDER A LARGE COMBO ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON AT 3:13!!! (Leaves more game pieces for me - LOL!)

            • I guess JIB has to do something. My teenagers refuse to eat there!
Now the restaurant will be filled with all these middle-aged people frantically ripping off game pieces, wailing in dismay and going back to the counter to order another large combo!

              • Natalie and Shelby have a horsemanship competition in Arizona Feb 12. There are no JIB's in Michigan (I checked the web site), but there are 145 in Arizona!! I will take extra money and insist that EVERYONE from our barn eat at JIB for every meal. I am not above searching the trash cans for pull stubs. (Gosh Dad do you have too!!!???)
Just might have to knock over a store display to obtain a sign for my collection. "Excuse me sir, are you wearing some sort of cardiac prosthetic external pump, or is that a Jack in the Box poster under your shirt?"

                • Unfortunately, the poster I saw was sectioned vertically to fit in two window sections, but would probably go back together nicely if cut well. (Might make it easier to hide - "Here, honey - you take this half!") Of course, the 5- or 6-foot-long poster (vinyl cling, maybe?) was in the highest part of the window, making a "casual withdrawal" more difficult. My wife, daughter & I each got one piece of the three different prize category pictures, although I did get the Thunderbird piece! (Fate?) 4 pieces to each puzzle.

                  • Keep givin' me the list, Dennis, I'm writin' all this down to take with me. "Excuse me sir, I'm the new owner of your franchise, and I want that advertising stuff."

                    • Steve,
File this under "more than you wanted to know" about Jack in the Box:
15-20 years ago, two PHX cops ordered burgers at the JIB drive-thru. One of the staff working at the window alerted a fellow worker that the cops had just ordered. The other employee sneezes big time onto one of the burgers. The cop unknowingly bites into it and starts gagging and then barfing. The evidence was still on the rest of that burger. The kids get busted and one spends some time in jail.
Jack is a witty and funny bald, styrofoam-headed man, but I haven't been to his restaurants since this incident. Now, Steve, would you like fries with your order?

                      • Steve, we can make this our clearinghouse for puzzle pieces! I've got the lower right quadrant of the T-Bird, so far. If anyone gets extra parts, post here and we can swap.

You might have a chance at the poster in the window if your family acts like a circus acrobatic act and practices standing on each other's shoulders after the meal. Better yet, have your friends make commotions in other areas of the restaurant to distract employees from your "real mission".

Jeff, I go for the Monster Tacos (nee Super Tacos), myself - have for MANY years. By the time they deep fry everything in the shell, it's been pretty well sanitized & homogenized, I figure. :gag:

And this is one of the VERY few company commercial series that I find amusing or even worth watching. I especially liked the different antenna balls and their messages!

                        • This weeks episode of Monk (Mr. Monk and the Captain's Wife) - Black with Black soft top being detailed by the bad guy in the final scene of the show. Earlier someone says something about the guy "bought a new TBird." Also about half way through there are a couple of quick shots of the car in the driveway in the background. Actually a couple of good looks at the parked car, and a shot panning back from the Thunderbird script on the RR quarterpanel.

                          • From Phoenix AZ. Both Daughters have done well in the Arabian breed horse show here. I did stop at three J i B's. Turns out the window poster is glued to the outside of the glass! The manager says they are stripped off with an 8 inch wide knife and shredded in the process. I left him my card and asked if he would mail me the shreds. I used to work for the CIA, evidence division.

                              • In this week's Sopranos episode, Adrienne drives off in what appears to be a silver deluxe model. The top was down and it was a nightime scene.
