Bad News for Miss Match
From USA Today:
"That's a troubling sign for the few clear clinkers of the season: ABC's Threat Matrix (predictably suffering against Friends and Survivor); CBS' The Brotherhood of Poland, N.H.; NBC's Miss Match; Fox's Luis; WB's One Tree Hill and Run of the House; and UPN's Jake 2.0 and The Mullets. All were distant third-place finishers — or worse — in their premieres.
But it's encouraging news for a handful of shows that hope to hold onto early momentum. That list includes CBS' Charlie Sheen comedy Two and a Half Menand crime drama Cold Case, the week's top new sitcom and drama; NBC's Las Vegas, ABC's Hope & Faith and UPN's All of Us, a family sitcom produced by Will and Jada Smith.
CBS' Joan of Arcadia easily topped NBC's Miss Match in a contest for female viewers on Friday, while Sunday's legal battle between NBC's The Lyon's Den and ABC's overhauled The Practice wound up in Lyon's favor."

I just checked the History Channel site, and couldn't find Shifting gears episode 2 for sale. If somebody watches episode 3 which is on Oct 4 at 6 or 6:30 (I already forgot!) EDT maybe we can get the phone # to call. Episode 3 airs twice, then episode 4 twice. I saw a summary of# 3, (no Birds listed) but I couldn't pull up a summary of #4 although it looked like a hyperlink.

I checked with The History Channel Store re: purchasing a copy of the Shifting Gears from last week. I was advised that there is not a copy of this available, at least yet. I'll keep checking.

I thought it looked like it was a white one this week!

T-Birds/Cubs playoff games
State Farm has been running two different commercials during the Cubs playoff games (on Fox in the Chicago area - don't know if they're running nationwide). The first one shows a car cover being removed from a Torch Red parked in a garage. The second one shows a black Bird in a couple of scenes - one on the road and one parked.
Ford hasn't show ANY commercials showcasing a Bird in a long time.
Pretty sad when an insurance company is giving us more exposure than the manufacturer is...

Zobchek- I agree on Miss Match. I endured 45 minutes last Friday night trying to catch a glimpse of the DSB Bird and finally gave up. What a lame excuse for a TV show.PK- 2002 Premium Blue/Full Accent/Whisper White Top

Watching a bad show just to see a car brought back a lot of old memories.
As a kid in the late 50's, I used to watch an hour long show hosted by Chrysler just to see the new "forward look", Chrysler's name for the 56 model line with fins.
I had no idea what the shows were about, but I just had to see the commercials.
Almost the same story for The Ed Sullivan show (Lincoln/Mercury), although he did have some acts which appealed to little kids.
When Good Morning Miami first aired, they had a shot of a 64 Ford convert in the opening scenes. The car, color and all, was/is my car's twin. I think my 64 Ford will easily outlast that show.2010 Explorer Limited Edition, tri color white, camel interior
