Re: AVERAGE AGE OF T BIRD OWNERS

This thread is very interesting. I've been watching the posts to see if there is an age exceedng mine. No such luck! Not even close. Does that mean that this old geezer is the eldest of all the TBN crowd? Jeeze!

My first car was a used 1939 Plymouth when I was in college. I can no longer remember the exact year of all the Plymouths (sedans & wagons) that I have owned since then. Later, I owned a big Oldsmobile wagon (needed a little bus with 8 children). That was followed by a Ford T-Top, two mustangs, and in 1993 I purchased my first Thunderbird, and then a Pathfinder. Six years ago, I added my ) 03 red T Bird. I waited 50 years for this convertible! Oh happy day.

Oh yeah, about my age; please respect your elders and don't pry. Since acquiring the T Bird, I have become young of heart, and I ignore my chronological age. T Birds have a way of doing that for you. You become ever young. However, I am barely able to say that I am seventy something.

Read the recent posts on "Upcoming Events" to learn about the Florida November Cruise & Poker Run that I am planning. This will be the EIGHTH in my series of successful Florida T-Bird cruise/caravans. So, there is still a lot of life in this old-timer. I am blessed to have many of you as my friends. It is not ALL about the cars, it is really about the people who drive them.

Re: AVERAGE AGE OF T BIRD OWNERS

I had just turned 47 when we bought our Torch Red Thunderbird in November 2001. I joked at the time that it was an early mid-life crisis present. Not sure when I'll hit mid-life now, since owning the car makes everyone younger instead of older.

All I know is that I'll soon be 55 and these have been 8 great years - filled with fun events, fantastic caravans and wonderful friendships. Here's to 8 more, 8 more, 8 more, 8 more, etc.......

Never owned a Thunderbird prior to this one, but always wanted a '56 and liked several others along the way. Previous and current FORDs in the family besides the T-bird include a '65 Mustang Coupe, '66 Mustange Coupe, '89 Taurus SHO, '89 Bronco II, '91 Taurus SHO, '93 Taurus SHO (still own), '97 F-150, 2005 Freestyle, 2007 Edge (still own), 2008 Focus SES (still own). After a recent test drive I'm sure it is just a matter of time before a new Taurus SHO comes to live at our house - 365hp & 350lbs of torque are intoxicating.

            I have had 3 TBirds:

            57, 94 SC, and 2004.

I am 64, which appears to be the average age of the owners here!???

                I bought my '02 January 11, 2008. I was 56 and I'm 57 now.......very soon to be 58. We bought a new 1980 gray Thunderbird that I still regret to this day. It was the ugliest of all ugly T-Birds that they made.....a total lemon----truly F(ound) O(n) R(oad) D(ead).

52 when I bought the Blackbird in May '03. Had an '82 Town Landau, not too many problems, just way under powered.

Tom, I agree with you about being "old". I said this before, I may get "old", but I'll never grow up because life is too short!
