I was 54 on June 28, 2007 the day the idea popped into my head to get a 2002 Thunderbird blue, and 3 days later on July 1, the proud owner of Fndrbird.

Will make it short, picked up cashmere 2005, number 1288 in March 2009 at the age of 64. My midlife crisis as the wife said. First one for me and have had one of the best summers ever. Looking forward to this fall and driving the northeastern part of the US of A for the colors.

ANOTHER ALL WHITE 56 FOLLOWED AND WENT FOR THE DOWN PAYMENT ON A NEW HOUSE. SINCE THEN I HAVE OWNED OVER TWENTY OTHER THUNDERBIRDS, ONE OF THEM AN ALL RED 55. IN 1978 I WAS ASSIGNED TO THE THUNDERBIRD CARLINE AND OVER THE NEXT TWENTY-ONE YEARS I HELPED BUILD OVER TWO MILLION THUNDERBIRDS, IN CHICAGO, LOS ANGELES, AND LORAIN, OHIO. I WAS THE PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT IN THE LORAIN PLANT WHEN WE BUILT THE LAST 1997 THUNDERBIRD. LAST YEAR WE STARTED ADDING THE NEW BIRDS TO OUR FLEET AND AFTER FIVE, WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT 2005. OTHER CARS ARE: 54 LINCOLN CAPRI CONVERTIBLE, 55 MERCURY HARDTOP, 55 FORD COUNTRY SEDAN WAGON, 79 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE CONVERTIBLE, 84 COUNTRY SQUIRE WAGON, AND A 50 FORD F-6. ONCE I OWNED A 1978 INDY 500 PACE CAR, BUT I DON'T TALK ABOUT THAT. SO AT 66 WE ARE REALLY ENJOYING THE BIRDS.
Thanks for sharing Ron. You sure have a great history when it comes down to T-Birds.

Let's see if anyone out there is an older bird lover than me.
At age 36 I bought my first new bird, a 1960 convert which I still have.

Wow Thomas. Great to hear your story My dad becomes 80 this year. If I think of him buying a T-Bird it would be the most unbelievable thing I can imagine.
Like Martin I would love to see a picture of your '60 convertible.

We picked up our 02 in July of 2004 from a local dealer who had it as a demo (his wifes car) with about 7000 KM. I was 47 at that time. Traded a 2004 F-150 that I won in a local fund raiser for the T-Bird. Best trade ever. Lots of fun.

I was 54 when I purchased my PCR in 2006 with 23,000 miles. It now has 28,000 miles. I have not had nearly enough "smiles" yet.
