True - but if we're posting here, it means we're not UNDER it!!

We just bought my wife a 2005 Medium Steel Blue back in February with just under 12,000 miles and we are both 48. We've really enjoyed having a convertible again after a 20 year absence and makes me want to get my Triumph's back on the road as well (TR3A and 2 TR4A's).

Turned 60 January of this year, went to buy one we saw advertised (2005), and was sold before we got there. We wanted a Bird since my wife and I were kids and purchased a 67 Mustang Convertible when I was 23 and had to sell after medical bills got out of hand for one of our daughters. I actually cried when the buyer took it! I told my wife, we will own a Bird one of these days, and now we do! 03 Torch Red just bought a couple of months ago. Unloaded the 05 Audi Convertible (lemon), it was in the shop more than on the road.

Took our 1st run on Saturday with TBN out west of Fort Worth, and had the time of our lives! Look forward to many, many more!

I bought my '95 last year at 41.
              I bought my '79 in early 2001 at 33.
I still have all 3 of them! :)

I purchased my wife’s '03 in May of '08 for my wife's 40th birthday. One day, out of the blue, she told me the Retro was her dream car. I looked for almost a year to find the right one, and I did. I took the day off without telling her to do the deal. When she arrived home from work, opened the garage door to pull her truck in and saw the Bird, she appeared to go into shock and then sat in the truck with her hands over her face crying. I’ve only seen her cry twice in our life together. Oh, she didn't see me watching from behind a curtain so don't tell her. I'll never forget that moment as long as I live. Her Phoenix will always be more than a machine to her and I’m OK with that!
