Extended Warranty Added to our 2002 - Thanks, Lou!
Re: Extended Warranty Added to our 2002 - Thanks, Lou!
I was just getting ready to contact Lou about extending my warranty, as it expires end of March, and I just read this. What a shame that some people must be soooo
inconsiderate. Lou was providing us with a good deal and it is ruined for the rest of us.
Just wonder if anything can be done to reverse this decision??????? Bunny Lou
Just wanted to publicly thank one of our members, Lou Martuneac (TBN name - lmartun) for facilitating us being able add a Ford ESP Premium Care extended warranty on our almost 8 year old Thunderbird for a reasonable cost.
Lou is the finance and insurance manager at a Chicago area Ford dealer and is happy to help out fellow T-bird owners by selling them a warranty for as close to cost as possible. Besides that, he is a heck of a nice guy and great to work with. I highly recommend anyone with a T-bird that has under 60K miles and needs added warranty coverage send him a pm or give him a call at 630-925-7590. He'll get back with you and do his best to provide you the coverage that you need for a great price.
I'm sleeping with more peace of mind tonight knowing that there is less of a chance of being robbed if repairs are needed over the next four years of T-bird ownership. Thanks again, Lou!!

Cecil;
You're better off sending him a PM or call him directly because he hasn't posted lately. If you search through this thread you'll find his TBN name and phone no./ email address
I contacted Lou and He is no longer able to sell the warranty to the membership here. However, He did provide me with some valuable information. Thanks Lou!!!
To those that caused the problems for Lou, I hope you sleep well knowing you probably put a very nice man in an embarrasing situation.
This morning I bought a 4 year Ford Premium Warranty for about $150 more than Lou's price. I got it thru www.FordWarrantys.com (Phone 866-379-7095) Don't accept their first quote, they came back in less than 24 hours and took $190 off the price. Their price was about $400 less than the local Ford dealer.

Any idea of the cost of this warranty on a 2002 Thunderbird with 4100 miles? We will keep this car until we are too old to drive.
It cost me $1465 for a 4 year-48000 mile Ford Premium Warranty on my '03. I bought it last month. If your car doesn't have a current warranty an inspection is required. The contact information is in post #104 of this thread. This is a Ford Warranty sold through a Ford Dealership.

Russell:
Your Ford, or Lincoiln Mercury dealer will quote you on this. Just ask for the price of a used car warranty. Mine offered me one at top dollar and then Lou sold them much less, so they are negotiable. Too bad Lou does not sell them any more
Re: Extended Warranty Added to our 2002 - Thanks, Lou!
I didn't get a Ford Warranty for my 2002 Tbird. I used Auto Services Company out of Mountain Home, AR. It was $1095 for 4yrs/48000 miles. I had this same Company for a Buick and it paid $1006 of $1077 for an oil leak (all new seals) and $338 of $373 for a new radiator. I have a good Auto Shop that I go to. If you go to a dealer their service shop rates are much higher than the average shop and the warranty will not pay the higher rates so you would have to pay the difference. I have had nothing go wrong on the Tbird so I hope that the warranty will not be used. :)
Re: Extended Warranty Added to our 2002 - Thanks, Lou!
I've got to say that with all the recent talk of things going wrong with peoples TB's I am rethinking the extended warranty.
I have an '03 with only 25k on it. Now that my son has taken the truck the TB has become my daily driver.
But which one?? BaseCare, ExtraCare, or PremiumCare
Would any of you care to expound upon your experience as to what you are buying and at what price you had to pay, it could benefit quite a number of us I think.

The link to Ford Warranties in post # 104 has been corrected. Good information on that site about the different warranties offered. (My disclaimer: I'm only a customer. My post is for information only and not an attempt to promote this site or influence your decision to buy their warranty.)
