Leroy, in 1960, my 1955 Ford convert (my first convert, second car) had the darker blue over the lighter blue.
Rare, but I think it made the car stand out.

AS FAR AS I KNOW, ALL 1955 FORD CONVERTIBLES CAME WITH THE DARKER COLOR ABOVE THE CHROME AND THE LIGHTER ON THE BOTTOM. I HAD A SOLID BLACK WITH A WHITE SOFT TOP AND RED AND WHITE INTERIOR.
I like it too. In mid 50's most hardtop 2 tones were a lighter collor but the soft tops were more often darker . As 2 tone's became more popular in late 50's the combination had many changes and often looked like it was about who could be most drastic in color match up. I remember some pretty ugly stuff. The 55-56 Ford failanes made great use of 2 tone nad many were sold each way above and below the chrome. The one that was pretty common I didn't like was black and red.
Very Nice! I am considering painting my Whisper White 03 top a Black Pearl Metalic. Ant suggestions from fellow T-Birders?
Black Pearl Metallic sounds really nice. I'd get a sample of the color and look at it against the car's white to check. I even went so far as to order the factory color and paint one of my 1/18 model's hardtops to see what it would look like sitting on the 1/18 MSB Dino made for me. Looked great, so I went with it!
Go with what you think looks good! In the end, it's only gotta make YOU happy!
