Not really. The sales people did not know what they were selling when the birds were new and they had all the new car material to work with. Today I suspect most of the sales people don't even know what a retro TBird is let alone what color/colour they are.

Back in 05 when I picked up my new 500 we drove the Bird to the dealership to pick it up. One of their salesman was looking at the Bird and said " It's too bad they never put a V-8 in these cars. I just shook my head and walked away.

No matter what the name, it's still the color it is. Black by any other name is still black.

My local Ford dealer always lists my t-bird blue as teal when I bring it in for service. guess it cuts down on his writing.

If they only added a little and left the tag on the window would they have called it Minnie Pearl?

In that case, maybe it is burgundy if you saw the movie "Sideways".

Back in the late 1960s, my grandmother had a '68 Pontiac Bonneville and I remember her commenting on the color being 'Springtime Green'. Everyone who saw the car (including me) thought the car was a silver/charcoal color. I guess there must have been a little green in it but I could'nt see it even as a kid.

On all my service documents from the dealer and I think on my state registration the color is red. I gave up a long time ago trying to change both. I know a fine Merlot when I see one.

Not really true anymore about black.

There's straight black, like our cars, and then there's a black with metal flake on the newer cars.

I like the new metal flake black in the sunlight, but sometimes it tends to look a bit dusty to me.
