I'm a newish member, and try to log in daily to see if there's anything for sale that I need (ok, want) for my bird. Several times I've skipped a few days only to find things that had come and gone in my absence. Also enjoy the various posts like "This Day in History" and the occasional posts by Quickdraw with interesting stats, among others. It's a good place with great people. One day I will try again for the "Thunderbird of the Month" contest. It's fun, even if I don't win. Another outlet for creativity. I look forward to attending the next gathering that's out west.

I agree with Rons post, I say we not worry about numbers and just enjoy the ride. Just my $0.02 worth.

I have to agree. This is an 18 year old site about an 18 year old car. It is what it is.

The numbers don't mean much unless we know the criteria for being counted as an "active member"? Close to three hundred "active members" is a fairly healthy club as long as those members are also "donating" members". I have to ask the question - how many of the active members are donating members?

What would be accomplished by showing the number of members having actually donated money? And would you like to know how much or how often? What would be the point of knowing any of this?
Many membets who are active donate in ways other than the customary dollars.

Don't be judging me. Don't be suggesting that I should be or may be feeling guilty. Obviously you don't know me as I don't know a thing about you.

Yes I will be the first to point out that you will not see any $$$ signs or the words 'donating member' by my name. I know what I donate to make this a successful Thunderbird site and I feel very good about it.

Like I said many members donate much more than dollars to keep this site at the level it is at. There is not another automotive site that can provide what this site can and does give to its members.

Of what value would the site achieve by displaying who donated money & how much? How would that be an accurate account of active members. To me active members are those that are participating with some regularity not someone who gives some money & the rarely comes to the site.

Yep.

Some folks partipation in planning/helping with events and other TBN activities are worth far more to the health of the group than they could ever give in monetary donations, while others monetary donations are also vitally important in the big scheme of things.

The real point is that we should all be givers as well as takers. If TBN has value to you, give what you can to keep it strong....no matter whether it is time, talents or money. In the end we all benefit from each approach.

It seems like you had to ask to have "Donating Member" added after you had contributed...
