Re: Cop Poll: 02 verses 03/05

I'm looking to buy a 2002-05 but am concerned about the COPs problem. If I've read the posts correctly it seems that only 2003-05 are covered with the extended warranty. Would appreciate it if someone would reply as based on the answer I won't consider an 02.
    Lastly is this warranty transferrable?
Is there documentation that one can get from Ford to this effect or do I have to obtain it from the seller. If the seller doesn't have it and Ford won't provide it then that is something else I have to factor in.
Thanks for reading and hopefully answering.

warranty. Actually, it's in letter form, All you need is a copy of the letter - if the dealer hasn't read it before. It's good for up to 100,000 miles or 10 years, which ever comes first for the car. There is a copy of the letter posted on this site in the cops forum.

Now that I have spares (used but 100% operational) from my WeaponX mod, next time you have a problem, I can install a used one for you at half that price .

          No guarantee comes with it.

For a one year guarentee, you will need to go to Ford (don't forget your $228)

Re: Cop Poll: 02 verses 03/05

Had a problem the week before we went to Savannah Thunder. COP 1,2,3, and 4 bad. All replaced under ESP. Fast forward June 2011 had COPs 7 and 8 go bad the week before Birds at Borla. Ordered 8 each WeaponX and ExtremeX and install this past weekend. 150 miles test good and we are off to Johnson City tomorrow morning. It feels like a I have a little more response and power.

Steve, if you read through the cop threads, you will find that you should be able to get a refund of the money you spent 2 months ago on replacing them if you went to your Ford dealer to do it.

Thanks - as an update, less than 2 months after having 2 cops changed, I now have at least 1 more bad one...

If you are lucky enough to have multiple cars the poll will take more then one vote.

This poll was requested because of the engine difference between the 02's and the 03/04/05's. this is the reasoning behind the poll.

Our 02 has had the #3 COP replaced twice since 47K miles and the check engine light is on again
