Re: Broken Wings - January 2012
I know what you mean Chairman and I look forward to the day when we can just enjoy Mom's T-Bird the way and your "Co-Owner" do. We have a garage queen too and I know the worst thing for the vehicle is to let it sit and not be used.
You guys have 100K+ miles on your bird and it looks better than it did when it rolled off the line.
Again, I have to agree with the Chairman, there is a lot of pleasure going on trips to meet fellow enthusiastic T-Bird owners and that's what we use Mom's for when work doesn’t get in the way. We meet the best people who just like to drive the bird.
If you are not making trips to meet the members of this site, you are missing out because if you knew the Chairman and his "Co-Owner", and others like them, you would understand where they are coming from and this thread wouldn't be as long as it is.
The Chairman and his "Co-Owner" are examples of why this club is as strong as it is. Why you ask? Because they drive to where the fun is!
If you are retired and own multiple vehicles, what's keeping you from enjoying the wind in you hair and meeting the best people on this planet? Spending time on the road with the one you want to be with most, T-bird, significant other, wife, husband, whatever, makes the trip worth the time until you meet the members. Meeting the members and caring for them makes owning this machine very special.
Folks, Mom and I are 20+ years from retirement and these cars may never be collectable, not in our lifetime anyway, but the memories and pictures are. All I ask is that you get out and drive the hell out of them and enjoy them.
The Chairman can speak to that! Torch Red is faster and he know's it. I do enjoy seeing him and his "Co-Owner" in our rearview mirror.
