        Re: Comments about "Garage Qeens"

Some of us working stiffs aren't rich enough to have a garage, much less a "Garage Queen" but my lil bird makes my day every day that I jump into it to drive to work. Don't let it be said that I don't envy those of you that have retired but I wouldn't change what I am doing right now for anyone. Retirement will come soon, about May if I choose to exercise it but it's not in the immediate plans and we're gonna "drive" our bird whenever we can. Congratulations to all of you that have reached the retirement status and some of you are just jealous.

          Re: Comments about "Garage Qeens"

I have two cars that look like "Garage Queens" but sit outside 24/7. My daily driver is an '11 Hyundai Sonata SE with 21,000 miles, The other is a '82 Dodge Dipolomat Salon and is strictly for shows and cruise-in's. The Dodge has 48,000 miles on it and it sits in my driveway with a good all-weather cover (WeatherShield) when it's not being used.
The point is, they both still look like new with just a little extra care. They get washed, clayed, polished, and waxed and detailed on a regular basis. It takes some effort to keep them looking good but a garage isn't necessary to keep a car "show ready". When I finally get my 'Bird I'll have to keep it outside and maintain it the same way.

            Well said Ray; spot on!

We'll see you & Debbie Sunday sans Illini Bird - she's still asleep. MKS will be a better car in the snow anyway; has AWD and the weather could be dicey.

Are you building in the new Brownwood section?

In fact, somehow there is a way you can search members by State to find out how many live in The Villages. I don't know how to do it myself though.
Yes we are building in the Brownwood section which is ironic because I spent summers on Torch Lake in MI next to Brownwood Acres!
How about that for full circle? The Developer of The Villages and family owned it.

We will be the first street past the Bonifay CC in Fernandina.

We were pretty negative before visiting and absolutely fell in love with the place. Visited in Jan and purchased a lot a week ago.

Now I need a FAST golf cart.

                  Re: Comments about "Garage Qeens"

Hello all, I broke my leg in Dec. while playing lumber jack in the woods. One would think that a 64 year old would have better sense. Well by the time this is healed my wife will have brow beat all the sense into me that I will need. Well that 's not why I'm posting.
I have to go to Physical therapy twice a week. It's a 40 mile round trip. Since I'm now allowed to drive again I take out the Tbird when it is not raining and above 50 degrees with the top always down. I have a wind screen behind the seats , roll the windows up, turn heater to 80 degrees with blower on high, bundle up and really have a nice drive. Gosh I love a convertible. So I guess mine is a maybe garage queen with 32,500 mi. When not in use it sits in the garage and get waxed once a month.

That is funny to see what the TBN members keep inside their garage. I can imagine what you keep also inside your house.

You are not alone , there is no more room in my garage to have my car in it. So, I rent another garage in another location which is very clean. So, if I have to take a pic of my garage to share with you, that would be the other one where my car is .

By the way, my car has 22.5 K miles and I am not expecting doing more than 5K per year due to the winter and my work. I am also a limo driver during the weekend. I am not sure if I will be doing that this summer. Maybe, when I will retire. To work 6 days a week during the summer, I think, it is enough. For the long distance, I take my Tbird only during my vacations in the summer.

Just to get married to have a ride with this limousine. Sometimes, we can bypass the rules with the limo driver . As you know...

It is not easy to drive this limo. Because the front of this car is very long and the wheels are in the front of this car. So, it is not ilke a Tbird to drive. Few people like to drive this limo as I am mostly alone. But this limo is a seller.
My Tbird is nothing against this limousine.

For me, it is a pleasure to drive this limo car for many reasons....

                          Re: Comments about "Garage Queens"

Beautiful day here in Northern Minnesota so I took my garage queen out for a little drive. Roads are all dry so didn't have to worry about the salt. Drove into town for a little shopping then back home. It's still clean. It hadn't been driven since sometime in November. Strange to hear the snow crunch under the tires in this vehicle.

Our Inspiration Yellow 2002 has just over 4,000 miles.
It gets out on sunny weekends in the summer. We are saving it for our retirement.
We also have a 427 Backdraft Cobra so we have our retirement wheels ready to go!
Our daily drivers see the snow, cold and salt!
