On the contrary, of the 69,098 2002-2005 Thunderbirds built, only 6,587 were not Premium or special editions. And only 6,979 of those came without a hardtop. So about 90% were premium with a hardtop.

I bought the car from a private sale, however I know this dealer and they are happy to sit on a car instead of haggle with price. I can imagine they were asking sticker and stayed there until they got it or close to it. The good news is that when I bought it a few years later it only had 5k miles - still new.

At this same dealer I saw a Focus RS and Mustang GT350 last year, both with a 10k mark-up over sticker!
